How We Compare to Other Practical Nursing Programs in Southwest Pennsylvania


At United, our practical nursing program between Uniontown, PA and Connellsville, PA is a direct admittance program. This means you won’t waste time and money taking classes only to find out later that you are not accepted into the program. You will graduate in just 12 months, and upon graduation, our students are eligible to take the licensing exam to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Clinical Locations


To achieve the aims of the Practical Nursing program, students are required to participate in clinical experiences in a variety of settings. This is in addition to learning the theory content included in the nursing classes. Some of the clinical rotations nursing students may experience include the following:

  • Uniontown Hospital
  • Highlands Hospital

Practical Nursing License


Nursing students will utilize the nursing process to provide safe, effective care while applying the scientific principles of nursing.

This program fulfills the educational prerequisites for professional licensing in Pennsylvania. Upon program completion, graduates will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN).

Successfully passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) qualifies the graduate to be employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Pennsylvania.
